Have you ever had alligator? Well I have... at a Bass Pro Shop... when I was 10... But now I can say that I've had it in a meal, and a great one at that. But let me get back to this restaurant and bar! It first stood out to me as a regular old bar, with plenty of mardi gras decorations as well. I first came for the $5 sangria and hurricane that they offer for happy hour. Which, if you love a good drink special - this is definitely worth it. Never having the sangria myself, all my friends have recommended me to try it, so if I'm not only coming back for the food, the sangria is definitely one reason to go back.

What you're witnessing is a Gator Po'Boy. One of the tastiest "gator" meals I've had. Not only that, but the fries were also delicious! I've previously tried their fried pickles, which let me tell you, amazing. But back to the gator. If you've never had gator, it simply tastes like a version of chicken - slightly different but delicious nonetheless.
To describe what's inside it, I'll read from the menu. The Gator Po'Boy is $15, and marinated with nola cajun seasoning, house-breaded, crispy fried. Served with remoulade, slaw, tomato-onion relish & fries. What they didn't mention in this description was how great all these flavors combined taste!!
I give NOLA Bar and Kitchen a 9/10.
